One of the key benefits of DAMA membership is the opportunity to contribute directly to the future of the data management profession.

As part of the programme to develop DMBOK® 3.0, the next generation of the Data Management Body of Knowledge, DAMA International has been running a series of focus group sessions to gather feedback from practitioners across the global data management community. The aim is to ensure that the next edition reflects current challenges, emerging practices, and the evolving needs of data professionals.

In July, representatives from the Ministry of Defence, one of DAMA UK's Platinum Member organisations, participated in one of these focus group sessions. Facilitated by the DAMA International DMBOK® 3.0 project team, the session brought together practitioners from across the organisation to share their experiences and perspectives as part of the wider community engagement process.

The session provided participants with an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of DMBOK® 3.0, sharing practical experiences and helping to ensure that the next edition remains relevant, accessible and valuable to data management professionals. Insights gathered through focus groups such as this will help inform the future direction of one of the profession's most widely recognised bodies of knowledge.
