DAMA Ireland and DAMA UK were delighted to hold their second face to face event, this time an evening event in Dublin, on 7 May 2026.  The core theme of the event was the relationship between data and AI.  Specific topics included how AI was changing the traditional data governance paradigm, AI legislation and data protection and privacy, the impact of AI on people and how data management generally needs to evolve to meet the challenges of the AI revolution.   

Speakers came from BearingPoint, Intelligent Business Strategies, Bank of Ireland, Stibo Systems, E&Y, Global Data Strategy, MUFG Investor Services and Royal London.  All speakers were also members of DAMA Ireland or DAMA UK.

DAMA UK, in partnership with DAMA Ireland, was delighted to hold its first ever face to face event in Northern Ireland.  For DAMA Ireland it marked the official launch of its DAMA chapter.  The day was deemed a great success by attendees, who came from both sides of the Irish border.  A variety of data and AI topics were discussed including the relationship between AI and data, data protection and privacy, AI ethics, the critical importance of master & reference data, bringing responsible AI into an organisation, the impact of AI on people and how data governance needs to evolve to meet the challenges of the AI revolution.    

Speakers came from the Bank of Ireland, BearingPoint, Global Data Strategy, Castlebridge, Elsevier, Royal London, PWC, Nucleo, Queen’s University and Datactics.  Special thanks also go to Datactics and BearingPoint for sponsoring the event.
