During the recent IRM Master Data Management, Data Governance, and AI Governance Conference, held from 23 to 27 March 2026, DAMA UK brought a creative flair to the world of data standards and ethics.

Amidst a week of transformative discussions on AI Governance and Real-World Data Impact, the highlight of our breakfast session for many attendees was the presence of Kate Jenkinson, who spent the event translating complex data dialogues into evocative spoken word.

Capturing the Data Spirit

Kate Jenkinson, a Creative Executive Coach and renowned Poetry in Business specialist, spent two intense days in London capturing the insights of over 20 speakers and panel members. Known for her work in helping HR leaders engage neurodivergent talent, Kate brought her unique ability to validate ideas to the conference floor, surprising speakers by sharing live poems immediately following their presentations.

The experience culminated in a spoken word finale, where the technical complexities of data governance were distilled into human-centric narratives. Truly brilliant to witness!

In fact, during our session on the benefits of joining the DAMA community, ranging from CDMP certification to regional networking, Kate captured the essence of our mission in the following poem:

Innovation in Governance

The IRM UK conference remains a cornerstone for the industry, and the 2026 themes, specifically the ethical and regulatory challenges of AI Governance, provided a rich backdrop for Kate’s creative work. It is always our goal to create a more inclusive and memorable environment for all data professionals to connect and grow, and by uniquely integrating the arts into a technical setting, we believe it does just that.

DAMA UK would like to extend our thanks to Kate Jenkinson for her insightful contributions and to the IRM UK team for facilitating such a transformative event.
